Our Mission

Transforming hearts and minds by the power of the Holy Spirit using Equine Assisted Learning.

We target at-risk/under-resourced youth ages 4-19.  We provide a counter-cultural experience in this rural setting for children to learn life and relational skills with the Holy Spirit and horses.  The horses are a way to teach powerful life lessons that have eternal and spiritual connections.

The working ranch provides opportunities for children to interact with horses and people in a very relaxed, but purposeful, way.  As children work alongside mentors they experience horse handling and care, horse communication, social interaction, connection with God and others.

For participants, learning life lessons with equine assistance can have a trickledown effect on their self-esteem, attitude, grade improvement, work performance, and relational skills as they discover their God-given potential.

We believe that with prayer, seized opportunities of mentoring, and intentional discipleship, God can grow these children into productive members of society, active church participants, and ultimately men and women of faith.

Our Vision

At-risk children will discover who they are in Christ and fulfill their purpose in life bringing glory to God.

Narrow Gate Horse Ranch is an inner-city missions program forging unlikely relationships, using horses as a conduit, to foster discipleship with youth and their families.

Our desire is to develop unlikely relationships that translate into discipleship where seeds of hope are planted to break generations of bondage which perpetuate a culture of poverty.

Our vision is that Christ, who came fulfilling Isiah 61, would fulfill it on a personal level within the children who come to the ranch.

The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy, instead of mourning, and a garment of praise, instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendorThey will rebuild the ancient ruins and restore the places long devastated; they will renew the ruined cities that have been devastated for generations.

Isaiah 61:1-4

Our Certainty

We are sure that we cannot accomplish this mission on our own.  It takes partnering with the local community and the local church to maximize the effect on these children and their families.
