A Stable Word by Narrow Gate Horse Ranch

Our horse Remi detests any sort of work, doesn’t like change, and has little tolerance for anything boring. He doesn’t like to go out of his comfort zone and responds by forcefully pulling away, in order to return to his comfort zone, which is either his stall or pasture. What Remi fails to see is that if he yields instead to the human leading him, he would receive far more than what he thinks he is leaving behind. He would get to go to a greener pasture, eat lots of yummy treats, meet new horses, and form a lasting relationship with some amazing humans. Instead, his fear holds him back from the amazing blessings.

How true is this in our relationship with God? We may not see the path God is wanting to lead us on, we may not be able to see what is ahead, and we may be fearful to leave our own comfort zone. But if we would just yield to God’s leadership and follow Him, then the blessings we would receive would be many.

Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.”
