Sisters. Similar? Yes, of course. They both have such sweet demeanors, years of horse experience, and beautiful hearts for the Lord. But they are such unique young women. NGHR volunteers share their faith, their resources, and their skills with the kids and the team. Autumn and Kelsey Lorenz have been doing that with NGHR for three years.
Autumn hid the idea of a horse ranch ministry opportunity in her heart after hearing about something like that years ago. Kelsey has personally experienced how horses can minister to others. This became part of their motivation as they committed endless hours to the ranch.
They have worked with the horses, supported equine-assisted learning classes, and agreed to take the reins on the developing riding program. They both help with business administration duties as well as go above and beyond in all our different fundraising efforts.
One thing these sisters do have in common is their approach to using their time in a meaningful way. They both articulated that being able to combine their love for horses and Jesus into a moment when children could also experience that made this work a valuable use of their time. When I asked Autumn to describe a memorable experience at the ranch, she said she can’t just pick one!

It’s amazing to have two young ladies on the team who work so hard to help facilitate moments like that. Kelsey talked about the ministry this way,
“I am sharing the love of Jesus with kids who have hurt and dark things in their life. And I am showing them another way.”

Kelsey loves mac & cheese and plays a mean Dutch Blitz. Her favorite NGHR horse is Molly. Autumn craves ice cream and prefers Ticket to Ride. Dexter holds her heart as an NGHR fav.
